The PRC government-owned and US-government banned Hikvision is the world's largest video surveillance manufacturer and sometimes a hidden provider to many Western companies

Updated for 2024, this directory includes 50+ of those companies with a graphic and links to company websites below and 60+ that have dropped Hikvision in the past few years.

This list does not include all relabeled Hikvision OEM brands, since most conceal any association with Hikvision. We have listed only those verified via examining shipping records, documentation, and/or product testing.

In nearly all cases, Hikvision OEM brands use Hikvision software with only minor cosmetic changes. In past examples, vendors questioned over OEM practices have asserted that they have and use their own firmware/software. Such claims are inherently suspect, since developing firmware independently involves significant complexity, which is inconsistent with the basic appeal of selling OEMs, that vendors can outsource product development while focusing on sales and marketing.

Typically, brands OEM from the same manufacturer across an entire line of devices, particularly smaller brands with less diverse offerings. This allows them to negotiate better pricing and decreases overall complexity, as support and warranty claims all occur via the same process, and software is more unified across many products.

Additionally, Hikvision has sub-brands, including EZVIZ, HiLook, Hikmicro, and HiWatch, which are sometimes shipped instead of the Hikvision brand.

Alarm.com Relabeled Hikvision Models Discontinued

Alarm.com has discontinued Hikvision relabeled models and replaced them with other OEMs. Alarm.com maintains an NDAA compliance document, which shows all current models as NDAA compliant.

Some models are still listed for sale during distribution, but these are remaining stock only.

DMP Doorbells Only/Hikvision Relabeled Cameras Discontinued

DMP now relabels only doorbells from Hikvision. Previously, DMP's entire camera line was OEMed from Hikvision, but these models have been discontinued and replaced with others, most recently Uniview in their new V-6000 line.

i-Pro Feedback

i-Pro stopped OEMing Hikvision (and Dahua) for its lower-cost Advidia camera line in the past year. Advidia cameras are now relabeled Uniview. Panasonic previously relabeled several manufacturers for the Advidia line, including Dahua, Hikvision, and ACTi.

OpenEye Now Compliant

OpenEye no longer offers any recorders manufactured by Hikvision. Previously, the MA series was its last remaining Hikvision-based model, but it has been discontinued.

Removed / Former OEMs

We removed another 20+ suppliers from this list as of 2023, as a number have stopped selling cameras, changed OEMs, or gone out of business. This brings the total number of former OEMs to nearly 70.

For those who have stopped OEMing Hikvision, Uniview is the most common alternative, with some others moving to TVT, Sunell, or Raysharp.

Good or Bad?

Whether OEMing is good or bad depends on one's perspective.

On the positive side, Hikvision is the largest video surveillance manufacturer globally, so that is seen by many as a source of strength to OEM from Hikvision.

On the negative side, Hikvision was created and is controlled by China's government, has a poor cybersecurity track record, and is banned or sanctioned by the US and other governments, all major concerns for many users.

Shipping Records

Shipping records often support that a company OEMs from Hikvision. For example, this series of shipments to Stanley-owned company 3xLogic:

However, many OEMs do not receive shipments directly from Hikvision in China, or take steps to hide these records.

MAC OUI Lookup

MAC addresses contain a string of characters called an organizationally unique identifier, or OUI, specific to the manufacturer. OEM devices will often show Hikvision OUIs even if sold as, for instance, an ADI W-Box as shown below:

However, more sophisticated OEMs will have Hikvision assign a different MAC address OUI to mask the origin, so a non-Hikvision OUI does not exclude Hikvision as the manufacturer.

Interface Similarities

Typically, Hikvision OEMs use the same fundamental interface as Hikvision with mostly cosmetic changes (logo, colors, button placement, etc.). The video below demonstrates this with a comparison of Hikvision's web interface and ADI W-Box's:

Discovery Tool Connectivity

Most Hikvision OEMs will connect just like Hikvision devices to Hikvision's SADP tool and even to third party VMS, e.g., here is an Interlogix TruVision camera which is discovered using Hikvision's SADP.

If you open up a Hikvision OEM camera, often there will be a Hikvision component modeling number, e.g., below is a Hikvision branded board and a Hikvision OEMed by Tri-Ed Northern that will not be found inside non-Hikvision products:
